Abstract:
An engine has a built-in V belt-type stepless speed changer (16) where a drive pulley (55) mounted on one end of a crankshaft (28) and a driven pulley (56) mounted on one end of a speed change shaft (47) are connected by a V belt (57). A centrifugal clutch mechanism (17) is provided coaxially with the speed change shaft (47), and the centrifugal clutch mechanism (17) is provided more on the cylinder side than the driven pulley (56). A crankcase (22) supporting the crankshaft (28) and the speed change shaft (47) is constituted of a first case (40) and a second case (41). A mating face (split face (D) of the crankcase (22)) between the first case (40) and the second case (41) is positioned opposite the V belt-type speed changer (16), across the axis (L) of a cylinder.
