Abstract:
An enhanced pointing interface associated with a user interface, e.g. a display, comprising a pointing interface arranged to detect locations, and possibly sizes and motions of pointing elements and a processing unit calculating a response, e.g. an interface area upon the display, and activate the response in relation to the detected parameters of the pointing elements. The enhanced pointing interface allows non-visual responses as well as visual ones, such as magnifying, diminishing and shifting (avoidance of hiding as well as panning) of the interface areas in response to location changes of the pointing elements, and further actions such as selection (thereby emulating a touch screen on a display which lacks touch capabilities) and repeated enhancement of parts of the interface areas.
