Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. A user equipment and base station for enhancing reception reliability for control information or data information are provided. A method for operating the UE includes receiving: a first configuration for a CORESET and a second configuration for a second CORESET; a first PDCCH, in the first CORESET or the second CORESET, including a first DCI format; and a first PDSCH, scheduled by the first DCI format, including a TB. The method further includes transmitting a first PUCCH including a first HARQ-ACK codebook and a second PUCCH including a second HARQ-ACK codebook. HARQ-ACK information, in response to receiving the TB, is included in: the first HARQ-ACK codebook when the first PDCCH is received in the first CORESET and the second HARQ-ACK codebook when the first PDCCH is received in the second CORESET.
