Abstract:
A position prediction unit (13) uses current position information and travel information to predict a future position of a vehicle. A first use determination unit (15) determines the availability of the current position information, and a second use determination unit (16) determines the availability of place information, such as map data or traffic information. If the first use determination unit (15) determines that the current position information is available, the second use determination unit (16) determines that the place information is available, and the future position of the vehicle predicted by the position prediction unit (13) corresponds to a "place which should not be entered by the vehicle", which is determined on the basis of the place information, then a control start determination unit (17) outputs a control signal indicating an automatic braking operation or an automatic steering operation.
