Abstract:
An environment acquisition system (1) is provided with: a housing (11); a visual sensor (12); and a data processing unit (14). The visual sensor (12) is housed in the housing (11), and can repeatedly acquire environment information about an external environment of the housing (11). The data processing unit (14) performs a process for assessing the position and the attitude of the visual sensor (12) and a process for generating three-dimensional external environment data on the basis of the environment information acquired by the visual sensor (12) or information acquired from the environment information. The visual sensor (12) can acquire the environment information in a state where the attitude of the housing (11) is not controlled, and the housing (11) is separated from the ground and not mechanically constrained from the outside.
