Abstract:
The present application relates to an environment-friendly production method for methionine, comprising: hydrolyzing 5-(2-methylthioethyl)-hydantoin with sodium carbonate, then performing sodium carbonate crystallization, performing solid-liquid separation and separately collecting sodium carbonate crystals and crystallization mother liquor; diluting the obtained crystallization mother liquor with water till the content of methionine is 10 wt% to 20 wt% and the sodium carbonate content is within 6 wt%, and then introducing carbon dioxide acidified crystals to obtain methionine. The secondary crystallization mother liquid can be recycled to the sodium carbonate crystallization step after heating; steps of the whole production method are simple, and the conditions are mild; no low-value by-products, i.e., sodium sulfate or sodium chloride, is generated; and foul smell generated by the thermal decomposition of methionine caused by repeatedly heating and concentrating the methionine-containing sodium sulfate mother liquor is avoided; and the product, i.e., sodium carbonate, can be recycled. The method is environmentally friendly and worthy of popularizing and applying in industrial production.
