Abstract:
The present invention relates to an Erlenmeyer flask combined with funnel. More particularly, it relates to an Erlenmeyer flask which is shaped in one-body type combined with funnel by modifying the cylinder-shaped mouth into V-shaped mouth, so it provides conveniences in using by combinating the Erlenmeyer flask function and funnel function for filtering, also it can be used generally as a normal Erlenmeyer flask.

WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:
1. An Erlenmeyer flask combined with funnel, which comprises: a main body 11, a neck 40, and a funnel mouth 21 in onebody.
2. The Erlenmeyer flask combined with funnel according to claim 1, wherein the said funnel mouth 21 is formed either straight or roundly.
3. The Erlenmeyer flask combined with funnel according to claim 1, wherein the funnel mouth 21 has an air vent hole 70 on its edge.
4. The Erlenmeyer flask combined with funnel according to claim 1, wherein the main body 11 has a handle 80 on its outside wall.
5. The Erlenmeyer flask combined with funnel according to claim 1, wherein the material is selected from the group consisting of glass, polypropylene, polyethylene and teflon.
6. The Erlenmeyer flask combined with funnel according to claim 1, wherein the volume falls in the range of 25mL ~ 3L.
Description:
ERLENMEYER FLASK COMBINED WITH FUNNEL TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to an Erlenmeyer flask combined with funnel.

More particularly, it relates to an Erlenmeyer flask which is shaped in one-body type combined with funnel by modifying the cylinder-shaped mouth into V-shaped mouth, so it provides conveniences in using by combining the Erlenmeyer flask function and funnel function for filtering, also it can be used generally as a normal Erlenmeyer flask.

BACKGROUND ART A flask with funnel, as a typical experimental instrument in the field of natural science and engineering, has become widely used in storing, reacting materials and incubating microorganism. Erlenmeyer flask, whose material is glass, polypropylene, polyethylene or teflon, is divided by usage into narrow mouth Erlenmeyer flask, wide mouth Erlenmeyer flask and conical Erlenmeyer flask.

Erlenmeyer flask is used as one of auxiliary instruments in analysis experiment for separating a mixture into solution and deposit by filtration method. Referring to Fig.

1, a funnel 20 is placed on top of an Erlenmeyer flask 10, a filter paper 30 on top of the funnel 20, then an object material for filtration poured over there is filtered by a gravitation and absorption force. In performing the above-mentioned normal filtration, a separate funnel is required together with the Erlenmeyer flask, which causes economical burdens. The Erlenmeyer flask and funnel should be washed after the experiment is completed, which causes inconveniences, and the increased number of instruments to be washed leads to the increased amount of the cleansing solution and the wastewater therefrom.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The object of the present invention will be more clearly understood from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing the conventional filtration method of using Erlenmeyer flask with funnel; Fig. 2 is a perspective view indicating the V-shaped mouth of Erlenmeyer flask according to the present invention; Fig. 3 is a perspective view showing the plain type V-shaped mouth of Erlenmeyer flask according to the present invention; Fig. 4 is a perspective view showing the curve type V-shaped mouth of Erlenmeyer flask according to the present invention; Fig. 5 is a perspective view showing the V-shaped air vent hole on the edge of V-shaped mouth of Erlenmeyer flask according to the present invention; and Fig. 6 is a perspective view showing the handle of Erlenmeyer flask according to the present invention.

DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION It is, therefore, an object of the present invention to overcome the problems encountered in prior arts and to provide an Erlenmeyer flask performing the filtration without any additional and separate funnels by modifying its mouth into V-shaped one bearing the funnel function.

In one embodiment, the present invention provides an Erlenmeyer flask which is one-body type combined with funnel, consisting of a main body 11, a neck 40, and a funnel mouth 21. In another embodiment, the V-shape of funnel mouth 21 is curved. In another embodiments, an additional air vent hole 70 and a handle 80 can be equipped respectively depending on the necessity.

Hereinafter, the detailed description of the present invention will be taken into account more definitely in the following embodiments with their drawings.

Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing the conventional filtration method of using an Erlenmeyer flask 10 with a funnel 20. The funnel 20 is placed on top of a cylindrical mouth of the Erlenmeyer flask 10, a filter paper 30 folded and placed on top of the funnel 20, and thus the filtration without the funnel 20 is hardly possible. The mouth of the conventional erlenmeyer flask is too narrow to filtrate the reagent, so the funnel is inevitably required and to be purchased separately. It also requires a considerable amount of time and expenses to wash the Erlenmeyer flask and funnel after use, which leads to a considerable amount of the cleaning solution and wastewater therefrom.

Fig. 2 is a perspective view indicating the V-shaped mouth of Erlenmeyer flask according to the present invention. This Erlenmeyer flask consists of a main body 11 and a V-shaped funnel mouth 21 formed in one-body, extending upward and downward from a neck 40. The angle, size and shape of the V-shaped funnel mouth 21 can be modified in various ways depending on the necessity. The volume of the Erlenmeyer flask of the invention falls in the range of 25mL ~ 3L according to the usage.

Fig. 3 is a perspective view showing the plain type V-shaped mouth of Erlenmeyer flask according to the present invention. The filter paper 30 is placed on the V-shaped funnel mouth 21 whose front-view contour is straight, and the filtration is performed in such a way that the filtered solution flows down into the main body 11 of the Erlenmeyer flask, which enables both the Erlenmeyer flask function and funnel function.

Fig. 4 is a perspective view showing the curve type V-shaped mouth of Erlenmeyer flask according to the present invention. The funnel mouth 21 having a round section 50 over the flank contacting with the filter paper 30, is used in case the size of the filter paper 30 is larger than that of the funnel mouth 21 so that it can keep the solution filtered through the filter paper 30 from overflowing along the outside wall of the Erlenmeyer flask. The solution overflowed from the filter paper 30 gathers into a space 60 formed between the said round section 50 of the funnel mouth 21 and the filter

paper 30, and flowing down into the main body 11 of the Erlenmeyer flask without any leakage.

Fig. 5 is a perspective view showing the V-shaped air vent hole on the edge of V-shaped mouth of Erlenmeyer flask according to the present invention. The V-shaped air vent hole 70 is formed on the edge of the funnel mouth 21 so that the material in the Erlenmeyer flask can be moved precisely and conveniently, keeping the filtering speed from retarding due to the air filled in the Erlenmeyer flask in a state that both the filter paper 30 and the funnel mouth 21 contact tight. The air vent hole 70 of the funnel mouth 21 can be applied to the said Fig. 2,3,4 and the following Fig. 6.

Fig. 6 is a perspective view showing the handle of Erlenmeyer flask according to the present invention. A handle 80 is formed on the outside wall of the main body 11 of the Erlenmeyer flask so that handling or carrying the Erlenmeyer flask can be performed conveniently.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY As described above throughout the embodiments of the invention, the present invention provides convenience in using and can be used as not only the flask for filtration but also the normal Erlenmeyer flask by combining both the Erlenmeyer flask function and funnel function. Also it is quite economical since no additional funnels are required. The amount of washing objects, cleaning solution and wastewater can be reduced considerably since washing the funnel is omitted.

The present invention has been described in an illustrative manner, and it is to be understood the terminology used is intended to be in the nature of description rather than of limitation. Many modifications and variations of the present invention are possible in light of the above teachings. Therefore, it is to be understood that within the scope of the appended claims, the invention may be practiced otherwise than as specifically described.
