Abstract:
Provided in the present invention is an error compensation correction device for use in a pipeline analog to digital converter, comprising a correction pipeline level and a conventional pipeline level. A corresponding error estimation circuit, a level edge detection circuit, a random level generation circuit and an MUX circuit are provided for each correction pipeline level, wherein the level edge detection circuit detects whether an output signal of a comparator in the correction pipeline level is stably outputted within a preset period of time; the MUX circuit is used for selecting the output signal of the comparator or an output signal of the random level generation circuit as an actual output signal of the comparator according to a detection result; and the error estimation circuit estimates a correction value of the correction pipeline level according to the actual output signal, an encoding signal of a next pipeline level and a correction value signal when the output signal of the comparator is not stably outputted within the preset period of time. The present invention may track and correct changes in a non-ideal characteristic and a mismatch error as time and the external environment change in a real time manner, without interrupting regular work of a pipeline ADC, and a correction value thereof resembles more closely to reality.
