Abstract:
This optical transmission/reception device is provided with an error correction decoding unit 36 for decoding reception sequences encoded using a low-density parity-check (LDPC) code. The error correction decoding unit 36 executes decoding processing which uses a check matrix 70 of spatially coupled LDPC code in which a plurality of small check matrices 71 are coupled. The decoding processing is windowed decoding processing which uses a window 80 that spans at least one of the small check matrices 71. The size of the window 80 and the number of times decoding is repeated are variable, and are inputted from a control circuit 12 connected to the error correction decoding unit 36.
