Abstract:
Provided are Escherichia coli engineering bacteria capable of producing a high yield of fumaric acid, and obtained by knocking out the fumarase coding genes fumA and fumC of E. coli and transforming the maleic acid cis-trans isomerase gene derived from Serratia marcescens. Also provided is a method for catalyzed synthesis of fumaric acid from maleic acid by using the E. coli engineering bacteria.
