Abstract:
An ESD protection device according to the present disclosure comprises: a first discharge electrode and a second discharge electrode, which are formed on the surface of or within an insulating base so as to partially face each other; and an auxiliary discharge electrode which is formed so as to be electrically connected to the first discharge electrode and the second discharge electrode. The auxiliary discharge electrode contains first metal particles, second metal particles and a binder. Each first metal particle has a core-shell structure which is composed of a core part that is mainly formed of a first metal and a shell part that is mainly formed of an oxide of a second metal and at least partially comprises voids. Each second metal particle has a core-shell structure which is composed of a core part that is mainly formed of the first metal and a shell part that is mainly formed of an oxide of the second metal and is free from voids. Consequently, the present invention is able to provide an ESD protection device which is able to be decreased in the discharge starting voltage, while having high reliability in terms of insulation.
