Abstract:
Provided is an ESD protection device which can be decreased in the discharge starting voltage.
An ESD protection device (1) which is provided with: a ceramic multilayer substrate (2); and first and second discharge electrodes (4, 5) which are arranged such that the front edges (4a, 5a) thereof face each other at a height at which the ceramic multilayer substrate (2) is located. The first and second discharge electrodes (4, 5) contain a metal and a shrinkage inhibiting material that has a lower shrinkage ratio than the metal at a firing temperature for obtaining the ceramic multilayer substrate (2).
