An estimation computing processing unit comprises: a first data application unit which, on the basis of first data indicating the relationship between a permanent magnet temperature, a phase current, and the inductance of a rotating machine, determines an inductance at the permanent magnet temperature from the fundamental wave component of a phase current extracted through a waveform conversion process; a magnet magnetic flux calculation unit which calculates a magnet magnetic flux from the fundamental wave component of the phase current extracted through the waveform conversion process, the fundamental wave component of a line voltage, an angular velocity, the inductance determined by means of the first data application unit, and a phase resistance of the rotating machine; and a second data application unit which, on the basis of second data indicating a relationship relating to the magnet magnetic flux with respect to the permanent magnet temperature, determines the permanent magnet temperature from the calculated magnet magnetic flux. The estimation computing processing unit determines the permanent magnet temperature by performing an estimation computing process repeatedly.
