Abstract:

Ethylene terephthalate/ethylene 2,6-naphthalene-dicarboxylate copolymers wherein 2,6-naphthalene-dicarboxylic acid is copolymerized in an amount of 5 to 20 mole % based on the whole dicarboxylic acid component. These copolymers are controlled in the content of Mn, Mg and Co resulting from catalysts or the like and that of P resulting from phosphorus compounds used as stabilizers and therefore are excellent in hue (i.e., colorless) and have a high transparency, thus being useful as a molding material for bottles.
