Abstract:
When causing a plurality of muscles to move in cooperation, the present invention makes it possible to determine a muscle to which an electrical stimulus should be presented and the presentation timing of the electrical stimulus. This exercise assistance device comprises a muscle synergy estimation unit, a stimulus site selection unit, and an electrical stimulus control unit. The muscle synergy estimation unit estimates, on the basis of information pertaining to the myoelectrical potential measured with regard to the plurality of muscles, the muscles that are moving in cooperation. The stimulus site selection unit selects, on the basis of the result of estimation by the muscle synergy estimation unit, a muscle at a stimulus-subject site to which an electrical stimulus should be presented. The electrical stimulus control unit controls the timing at which an electrical stimulus is presented to the muscle at the stimulus-subject site selected by the stimulus site selection unit.
