Abstract:
An embodiment of this invention provides an exhaled-air diagnosis device that has a cell section, a light-source unit, a detection unit, and a control unit. The cell section has a space into which a gas sample containing exhaled air that contains both a first substance and a second substance that is different from said first substance is introduced. The light-source unit inputs, to said space, first light that has a first wavelength that is between a plurality of light-absorption peaks for the first substance and second light that has a second wavelength that is different from the first wavelength. The detection unit detects the intensity of the first light and the intensity of the second light after said light has passed through the aforementioned space with the gas sample introduced into said space. The control unit computes the concentration of the second substance in the gas sample on the basis of the intensity of the first light and the intensity of the second light.
