Title:
EXHAUST CLEANER FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/097927
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An exhaust cleaner for an internal combustion engine. The cleaner reduces the amount of particulate substances discharged from a catalytic converter which continuously burns particulate substances contained in an exhaust gas. The exhaust cleaner for an internal combustion engine comprises: a catalytic converter which continuously burns particulate substances contained in an exhaust gas; a particle amount acquisition means which acquires the amount of particulate substances flowing into the catalytic converter; and a particle amount increase means which, when the inflow amount of particulate substances acquired is smaller than a given threshold value (α), changes the value of a control parameter for the internal combustion engine in such a direction that the amount of the particulate substances flowing into the catalytic converter increases. In a graph showing the relationship between the amount of particulate substances flowing into the catalytic converter and the amount of particulate substances discharged from the catalytic converter, the threshold value (α) corresponds to the amount of particulate substances flowing into the catalytic converter as determined at the time when the amount of particulate substances discharged from the catalytic converter is minimum.
