Abstract:

An exhaust gas cleaner (30) in which a filter (32) for collecting particulates is regenerated after determining the differential pressure (&Dgr P) between before and after the filter (32). It is determined that the time of when the temperature at the outlet part of the filter (32) becomes lower than that at the inlet part (&Dgr T>M) in measuring them by means of first and second temperature sensors (36, 37) during regeneration of the filter is the timing at which the regeneration ends. From the value of the differential pressure (&Dgr P) at the regeneration end timing, the amount of ash residue in the filter (32) is estimated. If the estimated amount of ash residue exceeds a predetermined value (PX), a replacement warning signal (K3) is outputted to prompt the user to replace the filter (32).
