Abstract:
 The purpose of the present invention is to effectively keep exhaust controlled to the target excess air ratio for NOx purging or SOx purging without using the lambda value of the exhaust gases. The system is provided with: an NOx reduction catalyst 32 situated in the exhaust system of an internal combustion engine 10, said catalyst 32 reducing and cleaning NOx from the exhaust; and regeneration units 60, 70 for lowering the excess air ratio of the exhaust to a prescribed target excess air ratio, and restoring the NOx cleaning performance of the NOx reduction catalyst 32. The regeneration units 60, 70 include: target setting units 66, 76 that, on the basis of the intake air amount of the internal combustion engine, the target excess air ratio, and the fuel injection amount of the internal combustion engine, set a target injection amount for use during post injection and/or exhaust pipe injection needed to bring the excess air ratio of the exhaust to a target excess air ratio; and an injection controller 50 for controlling the injection amount during post injection and/or exhaust pipe injection, on the basis of the target injection amount received from the target setting units 66, 76.
