Abstract:
The present invention provides an exhaust gas purification catalyst having improved NOx purification performance in low-temperature environments and high-temperature environments. The exhaust gas purification catalyst disclosed herein is disposed in an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine to purify exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine. The exhaust gas purification catalyst has a first region, a second region, a third region, and a fourth region, from an upstream side in a flow direction of the exhaust gas. The first region, the second region, the third region, and the fourth region are each provided with a base material and a catalyst layer formed on a surface of the base material. The catalyst layer includes, at least, silver serving as a catalyst metal, and a carrier for carrying the silver. The amount of silver carried in the catalyst layer in the third region is less than the amount of silver carried in the catalyst layer in the second region, and is less than the amount of silver carried in the catalyst layer in the fourth region.
