Abstract:
Disclosed is an exhaust gas purification filter which suppresses an increase in pressure loss and which, when the exhaust gas purification filter is regenerated, suppresses runaway during initial combustion thus preventing a rapid increase in the temperature of the exhaust gas purification filter and preventing breakages, is capable of reducing the combustion period of the particulate matter which is deposited on a partition wall, thus lengthening the intervals of the combustion cycle and increasing the amount of particulate matter collected, and reduces the fuel needed for the increase and maintenance of exhaust gas temperature, even for one combustion period, thus improving fuel efficiency. The exhaust gas purification filter is provided with: inflow surfaces into which exhaust gas containing particulate matter (30) flows; exhaust surfaces from which purified gas is discharged; and filter substrates (11) which are configured from a porous body. The filter substrate (11) has porous partition walls (14), gas channels (12), which are enclosed by the partition walls (14), and a porous film (13), which contains silicon carbide and is provided on the surface of the partition walls (14). The average pore diameter of the porous film (13) is greater than 0.5µm but not greater than 3µm.
