Abstract:
This exhaust gas purifying catalyst is provided with: an oxidation catalyst layer (2) that is formed on a carrier (1) and contains zeolite and at least one catalyst metal; an LNT layer (3) that is formed on the oxidation catalyst layer (2) and contains an NOx adsorption material and at least one catalyst metal; and an NOx reduction layer (4) that is formed on the LNT layer (3) and contains alumina and/or zirconia together with Rh, which serves as a catalyst metal. The NOx reduction layer (4) has a larger Rh content than the oxidation catalyst layer (2) and the LNT layer (3).
