Abstract:
Connected to a fuel pipe (18) leading from a fuel tank (16) to an internal combustion engine (14) is a sleeve (24) filled with a catalyst material (10) consisting of a mixture of minus-ion generating nylon and ceramic material, so as to apply a negative charge to liquid fuel (12) such as petroleum being fed. Thus, a catalyst for applying pre-combustion treatment to the liquid fuel is placed in the fuel pipe leading from the fuel tank to the internal combustion engine, thereby reducing the amount of harmful substances in the exhaust gases from the internal combustion engine.
