Abstract:
This EGR valve includes a valve housing (25) that has a flow passage (11). Arranged in the flow passage (11) are a valve seat (12) that includes a valve hole (16), a valve body (13) that can be seated on the valve seat (12), and a section of a rotatable shaft (14) with the valve body (13) fixed to the tip thereof. A ring-shaped seat surface (16a) is formed in the valve hole (16) of the valve seat (12). A ring-shaped seal surface (13a) corresponding to the seat surface (16a) is formed on the perimeter of the disc-shaped valve body (13). By rotating the rotatable shaft (14), the valve body (13) rotates open from a completely closed state in which the valve body (13) is seated on the valve seat (12) and the seal surface (13a) is in contact with the seat surface (16a). A tapered upstream-side flow regulating part (16b) is provided in the valve hole (16) of the valve seat (12), so as to widen from the seat surface (16a) toward the upstream side of the EGR gas flow.
