Title:
EXHAUST HEAT RECOVERY DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND EXHAUST HEAT RECOVERY METHOD FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/097923
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An exhaust heat recovery device (13) for an engine (1) equipped with a Rankine cycle (14), said exhaust heat recovery device being equipped with: a steam accumulator (20), which stores surplus operating medium, which is a surplus of an operating medium that drives a turbine (17); and an equalization line (21), which discharges the stored surplus operating medium from the steam accumulator (20) to the turbine (17), thereby equalizing the power output from the turbine (17) when the turbine (17) is unable to output a preset amount of power using only the operating medium from a boiler (16). Thus, even when the operating medium cannot be evaporated by the boiler (16), such as immediately after startup or immediately after stopping of the engine (1) or during a low-load operation, the power output from the turbine (17) can be equalized without a decrease in the power, so the exhaust heat from the engine (1) can be utilized efficiently.
