Abstract:

An exhaust manifold (HF) comprises a plurality of branch pipes (2-5) formed to bend into a substantially L-shape at a head flange (1), wherein the exhaust gas upstream side end of each branch pipe (2-5) is connected to the engine side through the head flange (1), the exhaust gas downstream side end is connected to a collecting section (6) provided with a sensor (10) for detecting the state of exhaust gas. A reduced diameter section (6d), so reduced in diameter that the length along the longitudinal direction (LN) of the head flange (1) of the collecting section (6) is shorter than the length (LT) along the thickness direction of the head flange (1) of the collecting section (6), is formed at the collecting section (6), and a sensor (10) is provided at the reduced diameter section (6d).
