Abstract:

An exhaust pipe part and an exhaust device for an internal combustion engine, enabling elimination of a conventionally used muffler, a reduction in the size of a noise eliminator provided to one end of an exhaust pipe, and a reduction in exhaust noise. The exhaust device can be reduced in weight and manufacturing cost. An exhaust pipe part (41) is provided to a tail pipe (28) so as to form a part of the tail pipe (28). The exhaust pipe part (41) is provided with a hollow member (42) connected to the tail pipe (28) in the axis direction thereof so as to be positioned in a region including a node of the sound pressure distribution of an air column resonance generated within the tail pipe (28), and the exhaust pipe part (41) is also provided with a short pipe (43) extended a predetermined length within the hollow member (42) in the axis direction of the tail pipe (28), having an open end (43a) on the upstream end of the short pipe (43), and having at the downstream end of the short pipe a bottom plate (43b) serving as the closed end located at a node of the sound pressure distribution of a standing wave of the air column resonance.
