Title:
EXHAUST PURIFICATION DEVICE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/049690
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In an internal combustion engine, an exhaust purification catalyst (13), a particulate filter (14), and a hydrocarbon supply valve (15) are positioned in an engine exhaust passage, and the engine is equipped with a low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation device (LPL) for recirculating exhaust gas downstream of the particulate filter (14). When hydrocarbons are sprayed from the hydrocarbon supply valve (15), carbon dioxide produced in the exhaust purification catalyst (13) is recirculated, and the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas flowing into the exhaust purification catalyst (13) temporarily decreases. When the particulate filter (14) is restored, hydrocarbons are sprayed from the hydrocarbon supply valve (15) so as not to overlap with the temporary air-fuel ratio decrease.
