Abstract:
The present invention is provided with: an NOx occlusion/reduction catalyst 32 that is provided to an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine 10, that occludes NOx when exhaust is in a lean state, and that reduces NOx when exhaust is in a rich state; a regeneration control unit 60 that executes regeneration processing wherein exhaust is put in a rich state and NOx that is occluded in the NOx occlusion/reduction catalyst 32 is reduced; a storage unit 73 in which is pre-stored an exhaust lambda predictive value for when regeneration processing has been executed; a reduction amount estimation unit 74 that estimates NOx reduction amount for when regeneration processing has been executed; and a prohibition unit 75 that, when the estimated NOx reduction amount is below a prescribed minimum threshold value, prohibits the execution of regeneration processing by the regeneration control unit 60.
