Title:
EXHAUST SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/129295
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The retention of exhaust gas in the inner parts of a sensor body is curbed by generating an appropriate pressure difference between a gas inlet and a gas outlet formed on the body of the sensor. The exhaust sensor (10), which measures exhaust gas composition, is equipped with a cylindrical sensor body (11) that is inserted into an exhaust pipe (5) of an engine (1), a gas inlet (12) that opens into the sensor body (11) and faces upstream and a gas outlet (13) that opens into the sensor body (11) and faces downstream. Due to the pressure difference between the gas inlet (12) and the gas outlet (13), exhaust gas, after being captured in the inner part of the sensor body (11) from the gas inlet (12), is expelled from the gas outlet (13).
