Abstract:
Exhaust silencer for an internal combustion engine of absorption type which employs a cylindrical, porous sound absorber (1). A thin cylindrical membrane (5) made of a thin metallic film or the like is formed over the inner surface of the sound absorber (1), thereby preventing the clogging of the absorber (1) and providing a wide range of the sound-absorbing functions. This silencer can be utilized as a silencer for an internal combustion engine.
