Abstract:
Disclosed is an exothermic welding method for welding grounding wires in the Amazon rainforest, the method comprising the following steps: cutting, by arc cutting pincers, heads to be welded (7) at the butt joint of the grounding wires into cones with a cone angle α; bundling the heads to be welded of the grounding wires by means of an iron wire and drying the heads to be welded; wiping the heads to be welded with cotton gauze until oxide layers are removed, in order to completely expose the metallic lustre; placing the heads to be welded into a die welding chamber (6), such that a welded head to be formed directly faces an outlet in the centre of a die flow guide groove (5); heating a die and the heads to be welded; heating the whole die after the die is closed; placing a supporting sheet (4) of the die at the bottom of a hot melting chamber (3); pouring an appropriate amount of welding powder into the hot melting chamber provided with scale marks, sprinkling a small amount of igniting powder into same, inserting one end of an igniting cable (2) into the igniting powder and leading the other end of the igniting cable out of the die, and igniting the part, out of the die, of the igniting cable after a die cover (1) is fastened; and performing cooling for 30 s to 50 s after welding, opening the die, removing the welded head, and then cleaning and inspecting same, and spraying an antiseptic paint onto the welded head after the welded head is qualified.
