Abstract:

[Problem] To provide an expandable structure which can be folded even when made of a highly rigid member. [Solution] An expandable structure (1A) comprises: a pair of strip-shaped members (3A, 3A); and a connection member (4A) that connects the pair of strip-shaped members (3A, 3A) to each other so that the pair of strip-shaped members (3A, 3A) are, in a state in which corners (307) of the pair of strip-shaped members (3A, 3A) contact each other at a surface (301) on one side in the thickness direction of the pair of strip-shaped members, freely deformable between a folded state in which the pair of strip-shaped members (3A, 3A) are parallel in a predetermined plane xy and an expanded state in which the pair of strip-shaped members (3A, 3A) are perpendicular in the predetermined plane xy. The ends of the surfaces (301) of the pair of strip-shaped members (3A, 3A) are connected to the connection member (4A) via a first bending part (5) that is bendable along the ends, and second notches (308) which prevent interference between the pair of strip-shaped members (3A, 3A) in the expanded state are formed in side surfaces (303, 304) of the pair of strip-shaped members (3A, 3A).
