Abstract:

　According to an embodiment, this expander is equipped with a piston (39) provided so as to be able to reciprocate within a cylinder (26), a crankshaft (50) which extends orthogonal to a reference plane that includes an axis of movement along the first direction of the piston, an XY separate crank mechanism (60) which is provided between the piston and the crankshaft, and which mutually converts the reciprocal movement of the piston and the rotational movement of the crankshaft, a cylinder head (28) having an intake port and a discharge port, an intake valve which opens and closes the intake port, a discharge valve which opens and closes the discharge port, an intake side valve mechanism (46) which opens and closes the intake valve, and a discharge-side valve mechanism (48) which opens and closes the discharge valve. The intake-side valve mechanism and/or the discharge-side valve mechanism is equipped with an XY separate drive mechanism.
