Abstract:

An expansion pipe joint, which absorbs displacement generated at the connecting portion of an upstream-side pipe and a downstream-side pipe, is equipped with: an outer tube the downstream end of which is joined to the downstream-side pipe; an inner tube which is inserted into the outer tube, and the upstream end of which is joined to the upstream-side pipe; and an expandable/contractible closure member extending between the upstream end of the outer tube and the upstream end of the inner tube so as to close off a gap therebetween. The difference in the position of the upstream end of the outer tube in the axial direction and the position of upstream end of the inner tube in the axial direction is within a prescribed range such that the generatrix of the closure member is inclined from the axial direction.
