Abstract:
An expansion valve (10) has a valve body (12) provided with a valve chamber (14). The valve body (12) has formed therein a communication hole (26) and an orifice (22), which individually communicate with the valve chamber (14). First piping and second piping (32) are connected to the valve body (12). The first piping is in communication with the communication hole (26). The second piping (32) is in communication with the orifice (22). In the expansion valve (10), a through-hole (18) extending through a needle (16) is formed in the facing portion (FN) of the needle (16), which is located between a position (PN3) on the needle (16) and a position (PN2) on the needle (16), the facing portion (FN) always facing the inner peripheral surface of the orifice (22) when the needle (16) reciprocates between the lowermost point and the uppermost point.
