Abstract:
A top-end opening of a closed-end power element containing chamber (24) formed at a top end of valve unit (20) is hermetically sealed in an air-tight state by a closing member (50) fixed by electron beam welding or the like. A power element (40) is fixed sandwiched between a convex portion (53) disposed at a bottom surface of the closing member and a bottom wall (27) of the power element containing chamber. A number of components and a product cost are reduced because screw forming is not necessary for the power element and valve unit, and it is not necessary to dispose a seal member around the power element. A low-pressure refrigerant flowed through a second channel (31) is guided into the power-element containing chamber (24) passing through a penetration hole (47) of the valve unit (20). The power element (40) improves precision of a refrigerant flow-rate control because it is less likely to be affected by an external air temperature with the vicinity being filled with refrigerant. Also, the power-element containing chamber (24) is disposed above the second channel (31) so pressure losses of the low-pressure refrigerant flowed through the second channel (31) is reduced.
