Abstract:
Disclosed are an external color quality management method and an external color quality management system that easily determine whether a colorimetric value of an external color falls within an allowable region of reference values. The external color quality management method comprises the steps of: delineating reference indices that make reference colorimetric values correspond to a plurality of prescribed angles, and an allowable region set such that the reference indices are included therein, in a coordinate space treating properties of at least two colors as coordinate axes; taking colorimetric measurements of a painted board to be assessed, which is the subject of said assessment, corresponding to the plurality of prescribed angles; delineating plots of the subject of the assessment in the coordinate space that makes the colorimetric value of the subject of the assessment correspond to the plurality of prescribed angles; interpolating between the plots of the subject of the assessment corresponding to the plurality of prescribed angles and delineating a colorimetric interpolation line of the subject of the assessment in the coordinate space; and determining, on the basis of whether the plots of the subject of the assessment corresponding to the plurality of prescribed angles are within the corresponding allowable region, whether the external color of the colorimetrically measured board subject to the assessment passes or fails.
