Title:
EXTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, OPERATING ACCORDING TO STIRLING CYCLE, WITH ELECTROMAGNETIC DISPLACER DRIVE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/176168
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
An external combustion engine, operating according to the Stirling cycle, with an electromagnetic displacer drive, is technologically and structurally characterized in that a displacer piston drive does not have a mechanical drive and is actuated via the operation of electromagnetic elements which are disposed on a working cylinder and in a displacer piston. The present technical solution has the advantage over all other arrangements of Stirling engines in that a mechanical output is not used for driving a displacer piston, and, as a result, there is no need to hermetically seal the output of the mechanical elements of such a drive in order to prevent a high-pressure working medium from escaping outward beyond the limits of the working cylinder.
