Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an external header-type multipolar element for alkaline water electrolysis by which both gas/liquid separation and an overall thin electrolyte cell can be achieved. This external header-type multipolar element for alkaline water electrolysis is characterized by being provided with: electrodes including a positive pole and a negative pole; a partitioning wall that separates the negative pole from the positive pole; and a discharge opening through which an electrolyte solution containing gas generated at the electrodes is discharged, a plurality of the discharge openings being provided in the region sandwiched between the positive pole or negative pole and the partitioning wall.
