Description:

EXTERNAL OR INTERNAL INTERCOM AND/OR VIDEO DOOR ENTRY STATION EQUIPPED WITH AIDS FOR PEOPLE WITH LIMITED VISUAL, AUDITORY AND VERBAL CAPACITIES

The present invention refers to an external or internal intercom and/or video entry door station equipped with aids for people with limited visual, auditory and verbal capacities .

More in particular, according to the invention, it is provided for to make multimedia video-communication stations, comprising voice support devices and touch code devices of the keys of a keyboard, as well as devices for voice synthesis upon pressing specific keys of the keyboard, in order to assist differently-abled people, such as blind, dumb and deaf people. Currently, intercom and video door entry systems permit the communication of a certain number of people situated inside a residential complex with one or more external calling stations . Nevertheless, new generation intercom and/or video door entry " systems increasingly require interactive communication with the outside world. In other words, each external station must be capable of interacting, simply and quickly, both with various people inside a building and with the various visitors who enter the building, even if the internal users and visitors entering the building are differently-abled people, in

particular people with limited visual, auditory and verbal capacities.

The object of the present invention is therefore that of making an external or internal intercom and/or video entry door station equipped with aids for differently- abled people that in addition to accomplishing normal video-communication functions, permits displaying and/or reproducing, in audio and/or video, guide information and signals for people with limited visual, auditory and verbal capacities .

Another object of the present invention is that of making an external or internal intercom and/or video entry door station equipped with aids for differently- abled people that is highly reliable and with relatively limited costs with respect to the prior art, given the same executable functions .

These and other objects, according to the present invention, are achieved by making an external or internal intercom and/or video entry door station equipped with aids for people with limited visual, auditory and verbal capacities according to the attached claim 1.

Other technical detail characteristics are present in the subsequent claims. Moreover, further characteristics and advantages of the external or internal intercom and/or video entry door

station equipped with aids for differently-abled people with limited visual, auditory and verbal capacities according to the present invention will be clearer from the following description, related to an exemplifying and non-limiting embodiment of the invention, and referred to the attached drawings, wherein:

Figure 1 shows a front schematic view of an external video entry door station, equipped with aids for people with limited visual, auditory and verbal capacities according to the present invention;

Figure 2 shows a front schematic view of an internal video entry door station (internal user) , equipped with aids for people with limited visual, auditory and verbal capacities according to the present invention.

With particular reference to the mentioned figure 1, a loudspeaker is indicated with 10 of an external video door entry station 11, the telecamera of station 11 is indicated with 12, the visualisation or display screen is indicated with 13 , a keyboard is indicated with 15 and a microphone is indicated with 16.

Analogously, the internal video door entry position 18 or internal position includes a loudspeaker 17, a telecamera 19, a visualisation display 20, a keyboard

22, a microphone 23 and series of keys for sending pre-

recorded messages .

The external 11 and internal 18 stations also provide for the use of one or more presence sensors, not illustrated in the attached figures, so as to give information and signals also to differently-abled people, such as blind, dumb and deaf people, in addition to carrying out normal video-communication functions . In particular, the screens or displays 13, 20 can display, for people with limited auditory capacities, one or more specific communications situations, such as displaying an incoming call, a transfer call or connection, the open entrance door, the fact that the called user has not responded, etc. The aforesaid situations and/or information can be advantageously represented by the displays 13, 20 in the form of self-explanatory icons or text. In addition, each visualisation display 13 or 20 is capable of displaying the same abovementioned information and/or other supplementary information, with writing or drawings, to assist the deaf person, or one with reduced auditory capacities.

The external 11 and internal 18 stations can also provide acoustic information, with voice messages, by means of the loudspeakers 10 and 17, which repeat the same abovementioned information and that further offer

a voice guide to assist blind people, or those with limited visual capacities .

The voice guide for blind people provides for its activation by means of at least one presence sensor, that is upon the hand touch of one or more keys of the keyboard 15 or 22 (in random manner) ; in addition, upon activation, a description of the procedure can be acoustically reproduced, such as for example communicating that a touch of the keyboard 15, 22 permits confirming the operation, while two touches permit its deletion.

Finally, the selection of the name or number to call can occur by means of voice selection, and thus the voice transmission be carried out of further supplementary information, such as an incoming call, a connection, the open door, "no one responded", etc. Finally, in particular for the internal station 18, keys 24 are provided for, which are physically provided or can be selected from a menu present on the display 20, that correspond to the same number of pre-recorded or voice synthesis messages to be sent to the external stations (such as, for example, "Who is it?", "The door is open...", etc.), so as to be a valid and practical aid for blind people or for those with limited visual and/or verbal capacities, in addition to accomplishing normal video-communication functions.

Frora the above description, the characteristics of the external or internal intercom and/or video entry door station, equipped with aids for people with limited visual, auditory and verbal capacities, object of the present invention, are clear, as are their advantages. In particular, these advantages regard the following aspects : possibility to display and/or reproduce, in audio and/or video, guide information for differently- abled people; simple management of the information, messages, configurations and parameters, without requiring the use of electronic control units, sources of possible failures, programming errors and/or malfunctions of the entire plant; overall cost of the employed components, maintenance and labour which is relatively limited with respect to traditional external or internal intercom and/or video door entry stations, given the same executable accessory functions.

Finally, it is clear that numerous variants can be made to the external or internal station in question, without departing from the novelty principles inherent in the inventive idea, as it is clear that, in the practical actuation of the invention, the materials, shapes and sizes of the details illustrated can be of

any type according to needs, and the same can substituted with other technically equivalent materials .
