Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an externally attached PTC element unit that can be attached securely to terminal protruding parts of terminals in a battery.
[Solution] An externally attached PTC element unit (20) is provided with a cap-shaped support body (21), a PTC element (22), and a terminal plate (23) for external connections. The cap-shaped support body (21) is formed from a top panel (26) and side wall parts (27) and is formed using a conductive material. The element back surface (34) side of the PTC element (22) is joined and affixed onto a first main surface (24) of the top panel (26). The terminal plate (23) for external connections is joined and affixed onto the element surface (33) of the PTC element (22) so as to cover the PTC element (22). In a state where the externally attached PTC element unit (20) is disposed so that the second main surface (25) side of the top panel (26) of the cap-shaped support body (21) faces the upper end surface of a terminal protruding parts (12), the side wall parts (27) are made to contact the side surfaces of the terminal protruding part (12).
