Abstract:

An additive which enhances the antiseptic effect of a cationic antiseptic in eye drops containing a compound having a chemical structure represented by the following general formula (I). Incorporating a basic amine compound into eye drops containing the compound having a chemical structure represented by the general formula (I) and a cationic antiseptic remarkably enhances the antiseptic effect on the eye drops. In the general formula (I), R¹ is any of the following structural formulae (Ia), (Ib), (Ic), (Id), (Ie), and (If).
