EYELID DETECTION DEVICE AND PROGRAM

An eyelid detection device which on the basis of a primary differential value and a secondary differential value of a gradation change in the vertical direction within the boundary of the eyelid in an image of an eye, shifts the secondary differential value in an upper direction by just one-fourth of the period of the frequency of the gradation change within the boundary of the eyelid, combines the primary differential value and the secondary differential value, and calculates a top eyelid feature amount. The eyelid detection device detects the boundary between the eye and the top eyelid on the basis of the peak point in the vertical direction of the top eyelid feature amount that was calculated. Hereby, the boundary between the eyelid and eye can be correctly detected even when there is make-up on the eyelid.
