Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a three-dimensional image having a higher image quality without requiring eye width adjustment and while reducing an optical system size. An eyepiece optical system according to this invention at least has, in order along the optical path when viewed from an observer side, a first polarization member (101), mirror (103), second polarization member (105), and image display device (107). The polarization state of the first polarization member (101) and the polarization state of the second polarization member (105) are mutually orthogonal.
