The present invention relates to a fabric ribbon and to an apparatus for producing a fabric ribbon by slitting a piece of wide-width fabric into narrow pieces of fabric ribbons using an ultrasonic slitter, and by thermally fusing both side edges of the narrow pieces of fabric ribbons to prevent the edges from fraying, so that the fabric ribbons may look overall like they are woven. The apparatus for producing a fabric ribbon by cutting a piece of wide-width fabric into narrow pieces of fabric ribbons comprises: a frame; a fabric rewinding shaft arranged in front of the frame to enable a fabric roll to be mounted thereon; a fabric conveyor roller which is arranged on the frame behind the fabric rewinding shaft, and rolls to convey a piece of wide-width fabric released from the fabric roll at a predetermined speed; an ultrasonic slitter arranged on the frame behind the fabric rewinding shaft to slit the piece of wide-width fabric conveyed by the fabric conveyor roller into a plurality of widths of fabric ribbons; a heating roller arranged on the frame behind the ultrasonic slitter to thermally fuse both side edges of the fabric ribbons, the widths of which are defined by the ultrasonic slitter; and a product-winding shaft rotatably arranged on the frame behind the heating roller to enable the fabric ribbons having passed through the heating roller to be wound onto individual respective rolls.
