Abstract:

[PROBLEMS] To provide a fabric provided with a highly expanded layer by employing an expansion method wherein the expansion of thermally expandable microcapsules is not hindered even in a crosslinked resin. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A fabric bearing a highly expanded layer stuck on one side thereof, wherein the highly expanded layer is composed of thermally expanded microcapsules, a synthetic resin for holding the microcapsules on one side of the fabric, and a hydrophilic microporous silica fine powder present on the surfaces of the microcapsules or in the synthetic resin. The fabric can be produced by preparing a synthetic resin solution containing both thermally expandable microcapsules and a hydrophilic microporous silica fine powder, applying the solution to one side of a fabric either over the whole surface of the side or in patterns, drying the resulting coating to form a synthetic resin layer, and then expanding the microcapsules under heating.
