Abstract:
Disclosed is a fabrication method for a solar cell that comprises a substrate and a structural body in which a first conductor layer, a photovoltaic conversion layer, and a second conductor layer are sequentially laminated on this substrate, said structural body consisting of a plurality of block elements that are electrically segregated by a specified size, and wherein adjacent block elements are electrically connected. The method is provided with a defect region specifying step, in which regions where structural defects are present are specified from the plurality of block elements, and a refurbishing step, in which a laser beam is irradiated in the regions or the perimeter thereof to remove the structural defects. The refurbishing step comprises a step (α), in which the structural body is irradiated by a first laser to remove or isolate the region, and a step (β), in which the edges of the structural body produced by the removal or isolation are irradiated by a second laser to clean the edges. A laser consisting of the first laser defocused so that the focal position thereof is separated from the substrate is used as the second laser.
