Provided are a face spline molding device and molding method with which deformation of the internal diameter of the cup can be limited and which can mold face splines stably. An outer joint member molded with said face spline molding device or face spline molding method, and a constant velocity universal joint using an outer joint member thus molded are proposed. The face spline molding device is equipped with: a cradle (53) having a punch member (50) with teeth (62) for molding the face splines (28) and an end face-receiving surface (52) for receiving the open end face (51) of a cup part (7); and a shaft member (57) having an inner surface-receiving surface (56) for receiving the inner surface (55) of the bottom wall of the cup part (7). The open end face (51) and the inner surface (52) of the bottom wall are simultaneously compressed. In this state, oscillating movements of the punch member are made to mold face splines (28) on the back surface (26a) of the bottom wall by plastic deformation due to the teeth (62) of the punch member (50).
