Abstract:
Disclosed is a faceplate for a display device, which is characterized by having, on the outer surface of a base (12), a hydrocarbon group (11) in which some or all of the hydrogen atoms are substituted by either or both of a fluorine atom and a fluorinated carbon group. Also disclosed is a method for producing a faceplate for a display device, which is characterized in that a surface of a base (12) that has a hydrocarbon group on at least a surface which is to be the outer surface of the faceplate is subjected to a low-pressure plasma treatment, said surface of the base (12) being to be the outer surface of the faceplate. A display device using the faceplate for a display device and an article using the display device are disclosed, too.
